That moment when you meant to make a BLAT and then fail by forgetting the lettuce. Oops.
Even without the lettuce this was so good. We are in peak tomato season and I couldn't think of a better way to use the gorgeous heirloom tomatoes I picked up at the farmer's market. This sandwich was inspired by one that I had last summer in Seattle, it was stacked with heirloom tomatoes, crispy bacon and a good smear of basil mayo. So that's exactly what I did here, except I added avocado and stacked it up on very toasty sourdough bread. Holy yum.
