Turkey Mince Pies with Goat Cheese Crust

Hiiii.

I made you pies! They may not be the prettiest pies, a little "rustic" looking, if you will. But I did not care, because they were damn good.

My boyfriend has been in New Zealand and Australia for the past few weeks visiting friends and family. Every time he goes, I always crave pies. I went with him a few years ago, and the pies were one of my favorite parts (of course). This time, I decided to just make my own since he can't bring one back for me.

I took the pie recipe from the Emonds Cookery Book, and put my own twist on it. I actually bought this cookbook when I was in NZ.

The filling is a mix of onion, garlic, ground turkey, carrots, leeks, and mushrooms.

The dough is studded with tangy herbed goat cheese.

Topped with egg wash and ready to be baked.
